SEO Basics Every New Website Needs on Day One

Search visibility starts with the basics being right before any content strategy is layered on top.

Give every page a unique title and description written for humans. Keep URLs short and readable. Use one clear H1 per page and a logical heading order.

Publish a sitemap, allow crawling in robots.txt, and set canonical URLs so duplicate paths do not compete with each other.

Add structured data — Organization, LocalBusiness and Service schema are enough for most businesses — and make sure images have descriptive alt text.

Finally, measure. Connect analytics and Search Console on launch day so you have a baseline to improve against.
